Rev. Dr. Darcel Hill has a decorated and admirable career as an Education Director and Program Director in the state of Minnesota. She has dedicated her life to the elevation and academic success of youth since she began her career in education in the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Program within the University of Minnesota’s College of Liberal Arts during the academic school year and TRiO Upward Bound Summer Program in 1972- 1978. She has moved up the ranks in the Minnesota State College and University system to have a robust career, transitioning into positions such as Academic Advisor, Program Director, and Adjunct Professor 1978- currently.
On January 21, 2008, Rev. Dr. Hill received the UNCF and General Mills Foundation Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Local Legend Award at the Minneapolis Convention Center. This prestigious award is given to “Exceptional Community Leaders whose lives and service to others exemplifies the life and legacy of Rev Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.” during the annual Dr. MLK Jr Holiday Breakfast as a nominee of Metropolitan State University.
